Cheaters need love too!

Cheaters need love too..

Yeah, you would be shocked at how I eat sometimes! I have to come clean with my customers and confess. I am absolutely passionate about my mission here at Delicious Planet ..but there are those times I cave into stress, I don’t grocery shop or order from DP and I morph into the “average American”. Ugh!! I start pretending that I didn’t study nutrition and I go into this blissful ignorant world. I eat nachos, pizza, ice cream and LOTS of chocolate and I “think” I’m heaven. Well, then my ear starts hurting , the walls start shaking (not really), my nose gets stuffy, the weight creeps up, and I start needing coffee in the morning to wake up. Eventually, I will have that magical morning when I just decide ENOUGH!! I burst out of bed ready to greet the day and I eat my granola, I go back to yoga & I’m thrilled to be back in the saddle again! Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I used to beat the heck out of myself for this in the past for this behavior – “Randi, you know better”! Well, ENOUGH of that too! Nowadays, I at least know my pattern and it doesn’t last forever. I try another angle and I recognize that what I may really need is some extra gentleness with myself, rather than that stern “talking to” that tends to happen.

So what if we fall off the wagon sometimes? Self forgiveness is what I will continue to try at these valleys in my life. Good plan!

Tips for when you are in a cheatin’ mood:

1. Compromise…you don’t have to go full hog. Example – if I must have pizza, I will order from a high quality place or have frozen organic one. I will have a salad too and will drink one Emergen-C Vitamin C packet since it is a natural antihistamine and may help a bit w/the ear, nose & throat reaction that happens for some sensitive to wheat and dairy. Oh yeah, and jope rope while you wait for your pizza delivery for at least 5 minutes. I don’t do this but I just thought that this would be an excellent addition!
2. Meditate ..with the emphasis on how much you LOVE yourself AS IS. Find it “cute” that sometimes you fall off of the track (silly Randi) and how it is absolutely wonderful that you always find your way back to health. Yay!
3. Make an agreement w/yourself that at these weaker moments in life, you will make a truly nourishing plan for yourself right then. Schedule a massage, sleep in a few mornings, rent some movies – whatever truly FEEDS/NOURISHES you other food.
4. Lighten up. Shut up (the negative self talk, I mean). Do your best. LOVE yourself.
Okay, now we know that I am not a perfect little example of healthy living, but that I strive for it every single day.

Joke: What do you do if a nutritionist knocks on your door? ‘vitem in. (vitamin) 
